PIERCING AFTERCARE

We’ve provided these helpful aftercare instructions to ensure the health of your piercing. Healing times may vary greatly from person to person though, in most cases, a well maintained piercing will feel and appear healed within about 4 weeks.

  • Wash your hands thoroughly prior to cleaning or touching your piercing for any reason.

  • Using mild (fragrance-free, alcohol-free) soap, gently lather around the piercing.

  • Rinse area thoroughly to remove all traces of soap from the piercing.

  • Use saline rinse 2 times daily during healing on the front and back of your piercing. Allow it to sit wet for approximately 5 minutes, wash off with warm water and pat dry.

  • Refrain from unnecessary handling of the piercing. This means no twisting, turning, or removal of the jewelry. This can cause trauma to your new piercing and lengthen the healing process.

  • Avoid sleeping on your piercing, as the pressure may result in soreness, changing of the piercing’s angle and the development of unwanted scar tissue.

  • For any questions, concerns, or continued care, reach out to us online, or walk-in to the shop.

  • When in doubt, wash and spray twice a day!

Please follow these basic instructions below for best results:

It’s not unusual for a new piercing to swell during healing. Because of this, the initial post will be a bit longer. It is best to visit our piercers around the 4-6 week mark of the healing process in order be resized with a post of the appropriate length. At this point, the piercing will be ready to be changed by our professionals. The shorter post will be more comfortable, fitted and reduce unnecessary irritation to your new piercing.
